VINITALY AND VERONA

Amarone, Barolo, Chianti - More than just the ABC's of Italian wine, it's what you will be tasting at Italy's famous wine fair - VinItaly.

 

Verona, the home of Romeo and Juliet, hosts this event and is abuzz with activities and opportunities to meet winemakers from all over Italy and taste their wines, many of which are not available in the US market. We'll take time to get to know Verona and her surroundings. Wine has been produced in the lush green hills around Verona since Roman times. A fascinating exploration of the Valpolicella wine region that focuses on the great Amarone awaits you. Be prepared to savor Veronnese cuisine with the wine makers and visit properties offering exclusive limited productions.

 

The surrounding scenic regions of the Veneto, Alto Adige and Fruili are less traveled destinations for the wine connoisseurs are filled with riches you will discover. This area produces more than a third of the countries DOC wines. But this production, in many cases is of a high quality produced by a boutique style wineries where quality outweighs quantity. Enjoy a very special day in the Collio wine region of Italy. Famous for both its red and white wines, the region is untouched by tourism and offers a unique slice of Italian culture. We'll cross the "ponte diavolo" to explore a medieval village that was once the Longaboard capital of Italy. And, of course, we won't forget to indulge a little in the local cuisine at a restaurant we have personally selected to enhance your experience of the Collio wine region of Italy.
